This past weekend was pretty laid back. I didn't do what I had planned to do, which is probably why it was so laid back! We kinda stayed in most of Saturday. I ended up taking a nap since I woke up around 7:30 Saturday morning. After the nap, we attempted to go to the park but it appeared to be closed so I got a Latte from McDonald's and we watched a movie, and that was it.
I guess McDonald's is the new competition for Starbuck's. They are now offering coffee similar to Starbucks at a cheaper price. I wonder how Starbuck's is going to survive. I already heard that they were losing customers to the economy and now here comes McDonald's.
I haven't been to Starbucks in awhile, mainly because I have been breastfeeding for the past year and then I was preggers so I made the decision to stay away from coffee. But even still, I have always saw it as expensive. So, it was always something that was a treat every month or so. Even with McDonald's Vanilla Latte, I paid almost $3.00, will be a luxury every now and then. Although, I have heard that the Lattes at Dunkin Donuts are cheaper. Speaking of donuts, I wouldn't mind having one today. I haven't had a donut in a good while.
Okay, time to make breakfast, take my daughter to get the MMR/ varicella vaccination, and homework.

I can't believe it's Friday. The days just go by so fast! Well, I have been trying to get my daughter to sleep in her crib. My fiancee says that I am wasting my time because she may sleep in the crib, initially, but she'll wake up two hours later and I end up putting her in the bed. He says I have gotten her so used to her routine that I might as well continue with it until she's older. Now what do you think? I think it'll take some effort but I could possibly switch her routine....
But I haven't been that successful with weaning her. I can't get away during the day without doing it but at night, it doesn't work too well. If I try to rock her (as my mom does when she's with her) she just looks at me, eyes wide, as if she's thinking, what the heck are you doing lady? So, I don't know. I don't even think I have that much milk left but she associates sleeping with this routine! Frustrating!

Well, I must say I was really disappointed when Danny got voted off. I was hoping it would have been Kris. Now don't get me wrong, Kris did do really well with the second song and I was jammin' to it but I like my danny! Even Simon and the other judges were surprised. Well, regardless he'll do well in the future. So, now that Danny is gone, I am now a Kris fan! Yippee!
Well, school is getting busy and motherhood is just as well. For Mother's Day, my fiancee' took me, mom, and my daughter out to eat. It was really nice. I was surprised that wasn't a long wait. I only waited about 7 minutes at most and then we were seated. We did go rather early in the day around 2:30pm so maybe that explains it. It was just nice being out.
I am trying to enjoy life more these days as well as treat myself more often. So, yesterday I got a pedicure and recently got my eyebrows and hair cut. The weather is getting nice and I need to look nice. Now if I could only lose some of this belly fat.......

What a week. With car issues, unexpected bills popping up, meltdowns....it has been busy. I am now in the house with no transportation because my fiancee' car is in the shop and he has mine. I had plans to go grocery shopping! I've wanted to make my lasagna for the past week and it looks like I won't be able to make until tomorrow since it will be late when I get a chance to go the store today. He'll pick up his car this evening so I get mine back! Yippee!
But yeah, it seems like whenever you have plans for your money something unexpected comes up. It's hard but I know things will get better. I am still trying to find something full-time so hopefully, something decent will come up.
In the meantime, I am just enjoying my daughter. We're suppose to go to the Mayfair this weekend so I am looking forward to that. She's young but I am trying to expose her to many different things and I guess part of me is just happy that I have a child now so I can do these type of activities!
It's Idol tonight. I think Adam is going to win, although, I'd prefer Danny. I just like his personality better and think he's attractive. Hmm...we'll see...but I'll definitely watch and vote tonight!

Feeling Good

Just wanted to wish all the mom's a Happy Mother's Day! I don't know what my significant other has planned but I know I wouldn't mind getting a pedicure and a manicure! To make matters worse, I even dreamed that I had one last night. I think the last time I've had one was right around this time last year because I remember it was about three weeks after my daughter was born, and she just turned a year a week ago today. So, it's been awhile. I got a hair cut on Tuesday and I told myself I would pay more attention to my appearance. The truth of the matter is that I've gotten lazy. I used to wear my makeup, put more effort into my hair, but not so much anymore. So, I am determined to get back to how I used to be, not too mention it's summer, and who does want to look their best????

Being out of work

It's becoming tough. Although, I love being home with my daughter, I do miss and need to work. I know I could do more for her working rather then being with her 24/7, for the most part. Uh! It's tough, especially as the weather gets warm and there are things that I'd like to do as well as buy! Uh, there has to relief in site. My fiancee' works but we could use the dual income. I am just hoping I could find something soon that will provide me with enough funds to pay the bills and do more things for her as well as myself.

Free Meal, establishing schedules

IF anyone would like to get a free meal, yes FREE, go to http://www.oprah.com/kfc
KFC is providing a free meal for their new grilled chicken. In this free meal, you get 2 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and a biscuit. It's what I had for dinner last night so I definitely took advantage of it especially when there was nothing really to cook. The only thing is that you have to be patient on the site because it's so many people going to the site so it's really slow and you may get error message a time or two but it does work.
On the other token of things, I am trying to get my daughter on a schedule. We have her going to bed around 11:30pm or so, so she's sleep now of course but I need to get her down earlier.
I was reading the No Cry Solution. If anyone needs ideas of helping your child sleep, it's the book to get. I just haven't implemented the book into our lives. I need to and I will.
The book discusses establishing a routine, which is something I really need to do. So, today, my goal is to establish a schedule for her. It will come in handy since I am now taking classes and will need extra time in the evening at some point.
I'll let you know how it goes!!!!

Well, I just started classes today. I am trying to finish up my MBA online and have three more classes left. I started working early while AJ slept. Now it's 2:30 and I am starting to feel like it's time for me to take a nap.
Okay, I am just rambling. I'll write back later when I have something more interesting to talk about...a nap is calling me. Interesting because I am not usually a nap person but for some reason today I am.

My daughter's Birthday

It's been a busy weekend. I was so busy planning and prepping for my daughter's party on Friday, I didn't get a chance to post. From running back to the Party City and the grocery store as well as putting up decoration, it was a pretty busy day. But it went rather well. It was so funny to see her face as we song Happy Birthday to her. She looked around like what's going on. So, she is a big girl now. She just started walking earlier last week so by the time her birthday came along she was able to walk around the whole place so I am really proud of her. I kept practicing with her because I wanted her to walk by the time her birthday came along and it paid off.
She had red velvet cake...kind of a grown up cake for a one year old...my mom's idea.
